Lavender Jadeite

Lavender jadeite, zi luo lan (紫罗兰) in the trade, takes its name from the violet flower and runs from a pale lilac wash to a deeper purple. Myanmar (Burma) is its classic source. The colour is usually soft and often shares the stone with icy white or green, so read the photos in daylight rather than expecting a uniform purple. Strong, saturated lavender with good translucency is genuinely rare, which is why a light, even lilac is the realistic and good-value place to start. Every piece here is natural, untreated Grade A: the colour formed in the ground and has not been dyed, which matters, because purple is one of the colours most often faked with dye.

Frequently asked about

Is lavender jade natural?
Natural lavender jadeite exists, with Myanmar (Burma) its classic source, but purple is also one of the colours most often produced with dye (Grade C). Everything here is untreated Grade A with an authenticity guarantee, and any independent lab can confirm it.
Why does the lavender look pale?
Most natural lavender is soft: lilac rather than violet. Deep, saturated lavender with high translucency is rare and priced accordingly. A vivid, even purple at a low price is a reason to ask about dye.
