Blue Water Jadeite

Blue water jadeite, lan shui (蓝水), has a cool blue-grey to teal-blue body with a smooth, oily lustre, the look of deep, still water. It is sometimes listed as blue-grey. Both Myanmar (Burma) and Guatemala produce it, Guatemalan jadeite in particular leaning toward blue-greens, and it is valued for an even, calm colour and good transparency rather than vividness. The blue is subtle in person and shifts with the light, cooler in shade and more teal in sun, which is why every listing is photographed in natural daylight. Each piece is natural, untreated Grade A, with its origin stated on the listing.
